Holiday Stress

I have been super busy and super stressed with the holidays. I am a very organized person with OCD tendencies so the holidays are usually no big deal for me. But this year for some reason has just been crazy. I have been late sending out my Christmas cards, mailing gifts, decorating the house, doing my baking, and the list goes on and on. I have seriously been neglecting the blog but I promise that once the holidays pass I will be back to giving you an insight look into my adventures in the kitchen, the gym and life in general. I did want to show you my little goodie packages I made for the people at my work and B’s work. Aren’t they so cute? We went away this past weekend and I will let you guys know all about that soon!!!

Until Next Time,

Christine

Can you tell me what is wrong here?

So can you? Can you figure out what is wrong with this picture? It’s not my perfect angel that my parents gave B and me our first Christmas as husband and wife. It’s not my favorite 12 days of Christmas ornaments B gave me last year for Christmas. Do you give up? Look real close? Still don’t know what it is?

My Christmas tree only has ornaments on the top 2/3 of the tree!!! And it is all thanks to this little angel.

Now don’t let him fool you. He is really a little devil in disguise. See here he is trying to eat my singing Santa.

But I think B just wanted it to stop singing. In all the years before, I never really worried about my ornaments with our cats in the house. The only thing the cats would do is climb the trunk of the tree until they got to the top but they didn’t destroy anything so I had no worries. But Rocky oh no, he wants to tear it all down. As it is he has found that eating the needles from the tree is his new favorite thing.Well I guess I will just have to start a new trend to only decorate the top half of your tree.

This weekend is my annual Christmas Baking Extravaganza. I have 50 goodie boxes to make for both B and my coworkers. So I will be baking about 10 different goodies and I will be baking all weekend long. I’ll be posting the goodies soon so hopefully you can make them before your holiday festivities.

Until next time,
Christine

Tacos! Tacos! Tacos!

I love Mexican food! I mean it is a deep everlasting love affair. It is so extreme that my husband has asked that I only cooked Mexican on nights he is working so that he doesn’t have to eat it anymore. I cook some kind of variation at least once to twice a week. I just can’t get enough.

Last week was extremely busy, as you can tell in my lack of posts. So I decided to try my crock pot for my Mexican. And can I say I think I have found my new best friend. Sorry Nastasia you have been replaced with my crock pot.

I got the crock pot as a wedding gift over two years and I am just now learning how valuable it is to my life. Why didn’t anyone tell me before? Seriously, these are things that I need to know.

But back to the oh so delicious point, I decided to take my taco seasoning mix and have my ground beef cook in the crock pot all day for a quick dinner. Let me just say Yum! Hope you enjoy.

Tacos in the Crockpot

1lb frozen lean ground beef
1 1/2 tablespoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon paprika
2 cups water

I put everything in my crockpot in the morning on low 10 hours and when I came home from work the meat was great in the tacos!

Until next time,
Christine
